Welcome to Ginjinha do Sanguinhal, a hidden gem nestled on R. do Comércio N-7 in the picturesque region of Portugal. This quaint café presents a delightful combination of rich heritage and heartwarming hospitality, making it a must-visit for anyone passing through.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a charming atmosphere that echoes the warmth of a family-run establishment. The café has been thoughtfully renovated from an old grocery store, retaining its authentic charm while showcasing a beautifully merchandised selection of local produce. This inviting space is not just perfect for coffee lovers; it’s a sanctuary for those seeking a truly wonderful experience.

One of the highlights here is their renowned Ginja, a traditional Portuguese cherry liqueur that’s crafted with care and love. According to customer reviews, it’s a must-try that keeps visitors coming back for more. Matthew Godard raves about the welcoming ambiance, indicating that this café feels like a slice of home. Meanwhile, Noel Walshe impresses upon us the personal touch brought by the friendly proprietor and the impressive selection available, including various flavors of Ginja.

For those with a tasty appetite, Ginjinha do Sanguinhal offers a selection of freshly made sandwiches and home-brewed pear cider that have received glowing reviews. Carlos MSM describes it as a “wonderful family-run mercearia,” emphasizing the deliciousness of the items served and the stretchy warmth of the owners. You can imagine the savory aroma of fresh sandwiches paired perfectly with a refreshing drink, making every bite truly special.

In a world of more significant, commercial cafés, Ginjinha do Sanguinhal feels like a refreshing breath of fresh air. The attentiveness and friendly service from the owners contribute to an experience that Robert encapsulates simply as “excellent.” This is the kind of place where each visit can feel uniquely rewarding; whether you’re sipping a rich coffee or venturing into another glass of that delectable Ginja, it’s a stop that makes memories.

For anyone looking to unwind, allow one of their quaint, cozy corners to become your haven for the day. And if you cherish the joys of furry companions, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the welcoming presence of the resident dog, who adds a charming touch to the experience.
